Heath Mount storm into the lead at Stormont swimming gala

On Tuesday 20th November our Under 9, Under 10 and Under 11 “A” and “B” girls swimming squads swam against Stormont at Queenswood’s 25 metre pool.  Heath Mount’s thirty three competitors all swam extremely well but special mention should go to the following:

Two new children –
Gaby Spooner won her individual freestyle event and swam superbly in both the medley and freestyle Under 9 “B” relays.
Sophie Herbert came second in her individual breaststroke event and also swam a good breaststroke leg in the Under 9 “B” medley relay.  Not only have Gaby and Sophie learnt to dive this term but at this gala they dived off of blocks, which is a tremendous achievement in itself.

In addition, to be highly commended are three children who truly made a difference to the match results:

Jessica Paxman
Hannah Williams
and Tullia Corbisiero.

The final results were:

Under 9 Heath Mount  47 points   Stormont  61 points
Under 10 Heath Mount 65 points    Stormont 53 points
Under 11    Heath Mount   85 points   Stormont 43 points

Overall Total:  Heath Mount 230 points   Stormont  165 points
