Headmaster’s Welcome
It is my privilege to welcome you to the Heath Mount Magazine 2020. This is a record of an extraordinary year that we will never forget. The Heath Mount work that you will read about in these pages was created at school and during our remote learning provision. The ingenuity
of the Heath Mount staff, pupils and parents is all reflected in this wonderful publication.
I hope you will enjoy reading about the trips, experiments and creations of our ambitious and talented pupils. This year, more than ever, they have needed to apply their learning powers within their education in response to events outside of their control. The way in which they embraced this change was staggering; they deftly navigated new situations and set ups and settled into new routines with remarkable ease. Agile and ambitious, they reached for the stars and never looked back.
As we move into the next academic year, we feel excited to see how
our new ways of learning can be incorporated into old traditions and routines. We remain thankful that we are able to once again deliver an outstanding Heath Mount education in stunning surroundings that gives pupils the time and space they need to grow. And we look forward, once again, to welcoming our community back into the special environment of Heath Mount in September.
This is a record of achievement owned by every Heath Mount pupil, parent and staff member. It reflects our diverse and beautiful school – I am extremely proud to work amongst such talent.
