       The Nightmare Man
Where am I going, nobody knows.
What am I doing, nobody knows.
I travel at night as the silent wind blows,
An obscure black figure hunched in the street,
I bring cursed nights to all I meet.
I creep down crooked alleyways,
You wouldn’t see me in all your days.
Crooked hands clasp my staff
As I wonder down the darkened path.
While children sleep, tucked up in beds,
I cast bad dreams in their heads.
I do not care for their weeping and screaming
They should know, they are only dreaming.
For you see I am the nightmare man; I feed on children’s fears, Creeping in at night and sipping up their tears.
I am the nightmare man, I come with the ebony skies,
Giving nightmares to children and cackling at their cries.
I leave you with a pulse so fast
And disappear into darkness vast,
I am the nightmare man, a creature of great fear
I’m sorry now to leave you all but I must move on from here.
