Mathematics Teacher

Mathematics is set from Year 3, with group sizes ranging from 6 to 18 depending upon pupils’ needs. The appointee will be expected to teach across the ability range, covering the Key Stage 2 and 3 curriculum. Scholarship groups are expected to work at GCSE standard or above and the appointee must be comfortable with mathematics at this level. The Mathematics department is very well resourced and there are networked interactive boards in every classroom. The school has recently launched a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and mathematics features prominently on the VLE to reinforce children’s learning. The appointee will therefore be comfortable with this methodology, although full training will be provided. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the activities programme where skills in music, drama, art or sport can be accommodated. There is no Saturday school and the successful candidate will not be required to undertake boarding duties. Heath Mount is a terrific place to work and the successful candidate would enjoy the friendship and support of talented colleagues.
