Music Teacher

Part Time Summer Term Only

The appointee teach music to junior school classes on Wednesday mornings and all day Thursday. There will be 9 lessons with the opportunity of helping out with instrumental or choral music clubs and activities. There is a large and very well equipped music room, with adjacent teaching rooms for our peripatetic music staff. The appointee will work under the direction of Richard Hutchins, Director of Music. There are currently 5 choirs at Heath Mount: the Pre-Prep Choir, the ‘Tuesday’ choir (open to all), the ‘Probationers’ Choir (by invitation), the ‘Chamber Choir’ (by invitation), and the ‘Bax’ Choir (by voice trials). The Chamber and Bax Choirs have been combined for the BBC Songs of Praise competition and numbers 50 children. We travel to Manchester this month for the final of Choir of the Year. There is no Saturday school but the successful candidate will be expected to support our Speech Day on Saturday 5th July, where musical items are included as part of the programme. Heath Mount is a terrific place to work and the appointee would enjoy the friendship and support of talented colleagues.
