Pre-Prep Newsletter

Dear Parents,

Despite being so close to the end of term, the children showed no signs of flagging this week as they put all their energies into some impressive displays of dancing, running and swimming.

On Tuesday, the children who learn ballet with Mrs Pay and daughter Megan displayed the skills which they have learnt over the year. It was so lovely to see the poise, grace and focus of our Pre-Prep children and to see some of the older children showcase the progression that they have made over the years.

Having had to delay our sports days, the sun finally came out on Thursday in time for a glorious day of races. Nursery’s theme this year was ‘superheroes’ and children enjoyed participating in the Kryptonite Rush, Superheroes to the Rescue and the ‘flash’ Dash. The Nursery parents also took to the track in a ‘Marvel-ous’ race and younger brothers and sisters had a chance to compete in the mini super hero sprint.

It was with great excitement and enthusiasm that Reception and Years 1 and 2 hit the track for their animal themed races, ranging from Monkey Business to Zany Zoo Keepers. It was a tight race throughout the afternoon with the red team just pipping the other teams to win the day! The younger siblings enjoyed the mini-visitors race before the Year 2 parents showed off their competitive spirit.

This afternoon saw Year 2 take to the water for their swimming gala. The children enjoyed showing their parents their swimming skills and the improvement they have made and everyone swam to the very best of their ability.

Thank you to all the Pre-Prep staff who organised all these events. Thank you also to Mr Bevan, our chef and the entire kitchen team for all the refreshments provided this week, the du Maurier Society for the ice-lollies, and of course to the parents and grandparents who came and supported their children.

On a personal note, this is my final newsletter. I would like to say thank you to all the parents for your support over the years and your good wishes as I retire. I would also like to say a huge thank you to the wonderful team here in the Pre-Prep who have been a delight to work with and of course not forgetting all the children. It has been my joy and privilege to be a teacher and Head of Heath Mount Pre-Prep. I wish you all a wonderful summer holiday. Have lots of fun with your fantastic children.
