Contact Heath Mount

Dear Parents

As the Lent term draws to a close, we look back on a hugely successful term which has been jam-packed with a plethora of exciting activities. The Celebratory Assemblies have been a fantastic opportunity for students and staff alike to pat each other on the back, whilst also reflecting on all the memories we have shared as a community. As such, highlighting what it means to be part of the Heath Mount community has been an area of contemplation this week. By definition, the word community sums up exactly what it means to be a part of Heath Mount School – “a group sharing a common understanding and the condition of having certain attitudes and interests in common.”

For example, this week saw the final sports matches of the term take place, where our children share the common goal of representing the school and its values to the highest; a special mention to our Senior rugby team who finished the season unbeaten. The Year 3 and 4 house matches were an avidly supported and fiercely competed spectacle, where the pride shown representing their houses was matched by the excellent level of skill on display. It has also been an action packed week in the Music Department; the Music Room was also filled with musical delights during the Rush Hour concert as numerous drummers, guitarists and pianists all demonstrated their instrumental flair and on Tuesday there was a full day of ABRSM music examinations. Friend of the school and Director of Enough Abuse UK, Marilyn Hawes, delivered a poignant reminder about the importance of staying safe online and the effective digital footprint management for pupils and parents.

Next week sees our attention turn towards Easter with our traditional Easter Service, colourful Easter Bonnet Parade and Inter-House Cross Country event – a fantastic spectacle where children from Reception to Year 8 support each other’s endeavours!
