Year 4 play

Dear Parents,

The dynamic nature of Heath Mount School has never been more clearly demonstrated than this week. One might imagine a young person going to school being dropped off at the door, skipping into assembly, taking part in a few lessons, playtime and maybe a game of hockey before being picked up to go home and start one’s homework. But one, could not be further from the truth.

This week has certainly put the ‘prep’ into our School. Year 4 have given us two wonderful performances of their production of Shakespeare Rocks! (imagine Macbeth meets Elvis and you are about there). This amazing show did not just happen overnight but instead is the result of weeks, days and hours of hard work and preparation from all the passionate performers and supporting staff. Every detail was accounted for from the tiniest hair to the brightest light; the simplest prop to the highest note. It really is a testament to the strength of collaboration from all involved and would not have been the same without the overwhelming encouragement from friends and family.

As a Preparatory school, the future of each of our pupils is always at the forefront of what we do. The Future Schools team have been working hard to ensure that pupils have the best opportunity possible as they head into examinations, assessments and interviews set by their potential senior schools. It has been a genuine pleasure to see what our young people have become and could go on to be. As they show off their talents and personalities to us and others, under pressurised circumstances, a sense of pride rises up as it is clear that whatever happens the world is a better place with them in it.
