Contact Heath Mount

Dear Parents

It is a pleasure to welcome everyone back. We hope that you all enjoyed some rest and relaxation last week during the half term break and feel refreshed and ready as we begin the second half of this academic term.

As the snowdrops are starting to blossom around Heath Mount, and the mornings and evenings become lighter, we look forward to another full half term as we say goodbye to February and hello to March – “March, when days are getting long, let thy growing hours be strong to set right some wintry wrong.”

We approach March with a bang as Heath Mount is buzzing with plotting and planning for World Book Day, which takes place next Friday. Our theme is ‘Journeys to Fantastical Worlds’ and in classrooms and the staff room we have spent the week discussing the many glorious books that are set in fantasy lands. We have a fun-filled day planned to celebrate World Book Day; students in Years 3-8 will start their day with a special assembly, complete with fashion parade and a quest-themed House Challenge. Children in Years 3 and 4 will welcome the author Lissy Clark, whilst students in Years 5-8 will have the opportunity to visit a Tolkien-themed grotto, courtesy of own very own wizard, Mr Pay. Throughout the day, we will be sharing the stories behind our costumes and introducing our friends to some of our favourite tales as well as continuing their quest with a treasure hunt around the school grounds. We look forward to telling you all about our adventures in next week’s newsletter!
