Contact Heath Mount

Dear Parents

Heath Mount was taken back to a simpler time this week as the communications systems decided to take festive leave one week early. Email inboxes remained frozen and telephones did not ring. The usual chug-chug of the printers was replaced with eerie silence. Despite this, people still communicated and were reminded of the art of conversation. Classroom lessons were still a hive of activity; the final fixtures of the term still took place, festive jumpers were still worn, choir descants were still sung, Christmas dinners were still eaten and shapes were still thrown at the ever popular school disco.

Friday’s Christmas fun day is always a day in the Calendar that so many children and staff look forward to. Like so many areas of the school, such days are only a success because of the efforts of so many people in the Heath Mount community pulling together in unison. Once again, our impressive catering staff produced a mouth-watering feast for all to enjoy. Mr Brown was ably assisted by the Year 8 students who showcased their leadership skills as they tended to the seating and service of over 200 Year 3 to 6 children. As always, we are extremely grateful to the du Maurier Society who provided the opportunity for children to show off their disco dance moves. We are also thankful for Christmas jumper donations that will go a long way to making Christmas and New Year special for our friends in India.

As the term draws to a close, the seasonal activities are ramping up with still so much to look forward to next week. The Awards Ceremony, Carol Service and issuing of reports to Years 3 to 5 provides us with opportunities to reflect, celebrate and look forward optimistically to 2018.
