Girls' First Contact Rugby Match

Historic Sporting Moment For Year 8 Girls

It was a historic moment on the pitches as Heath Mount took on Saracens High and Robert Bloomfield academy in the first ever girls' contact rugby game.

"I'm incredibly proud of the girls and their efforts," says their coach, Miss Clapp. "As the match went on, the girls grew in confidence and it was wonderful to see super tackles and tries! They’ve committed their Monday lunchtimes to rugby this term and their hard work has truly paid off. Well done Year 8s!"

We are fortunate to have both Miss Clapp (who recently played in the Rugby World Cup for the USA Eagles and is captain of the women's Saracen's team) and Miss Gregson (Saracens) to help coach our rugby teams and to inspire more girls to take up the sport.
