  • We were left 'speechless' at the talent on display at Friday's amazing Dance Show which celebrated some of our favourite #Disney musicals! Enjoy some of the highlights and have a go at identifying the Disney inspiration behind them. #performingarts #commercialdance #extracurricular #danceclub #schoollife #hertford #hertfordshire #privateschool

  • We ended our first week back with a truly magical, Disney-themed dance spectacular, featuring a high-energy retelling of Aladdin. The children did an incredible job of transporting us to the vibrant streets of Agrabah and fully immersing us in the story. Unsurprisingly, the applause started well before the final bow as parents and grandparents cheered the children on and showed their appreciation for their incredible AcroDance skills, fearless high kicks and brilliant group performances. Remarkably, the cast mastered their Aladdin dance story in just a few intense days of rehearsals, making their feat all the more impressive! The second half of the show delighted us with individual year group performances celebrating some of our favourite Disney classics, including Hercules and High School Musical. This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to show their parents what they have been working on in their weekly commercial dance lessons and to demonstrate just how much they have progressed. Their passion for performing and their fantastic teamwork were clear for all to see. We also enjoyed beautiful ballet performances from our youngest dancers in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, alongside two captivating solos from Bella and Poppy in Years 7 and 8. A huge congratulations to all of our dancers on a brilliant and memorable show, and a big thank you to their commercial dance teacher and choreographer extraordinaire, Cassie Rason @cmgartsltd . Sadly, we couldn't thank ballet teacher Megan Pay on the day, as she was away shooting a movie! Keep an out for some video highlights tomorrow... Did you know? We have a professional dance studio in our sports hall and offer weekly commercial dance and ballet lessons. • Well done to our Year 7 & 8 music scholars who delighted local residents at yesterday's lunchtime recital in Standon Church. We heard a variety of instrumental and voice performances with pieces by composers such as Chopin, Schubert and Saint-Saens. Our music scholars contribute so much to the musical life of Heath Mount and we aim to give them as many performance opportunities as possible to help grow their confidence. They also receive individual mentoring, additional music lessons, enrichment trips and music theory tuition to help boost their overall musicianship.
