We offer weekday private tours with Mr Gillam, Headmaster, for prospective families looking for places in Nursery up to Year 7.
Congratulations to art scholars Poppy and Phoebe for winning art scholarships to @oundleschool and @haileyburyuk respectively. Head Girl Poppy H now has three scholarships having already received academic and sport awards. Phoebe also adds to her sports scholarship at Haileybury. "Together with their fellow art scholars, the girls have spent 18 months building outstanding portfolios during our enrichment sessions," says Head of Art, Mrs Hay. "Their journey reflects resilience, creativity, and a genuine love of artembracing everything from visiting artists to printmaking and digital work. They have been a pleasure to work with and their creative futures look bright!"
Thank you to everyone who supported our charity fundraisers this term in aid of our Zambian charity initiatives. Our recent concert raised a spectacular £2,000 while our Easter craft stall, featuring pupil-made textiles from our charity craft club, raised a brilliant £387. Next term, we look forward to bringing our whole community together at our charity Colour Run on Saturday, 13th June. #charity #community
We are pleased to share that two of our Year 8 pupils have been awarded All-Round Scholarships by their senior schools. Kit has been awarded an Oundle Scholarship and our Head Boy, Ben, has been awarded an All Rounder Scholarship to St Edmund's College. These awards recognise pupils who demonstrate strength across a broad range of areas, including academic work, co curricular involvement, and wider contribution to school life. Both pupils have shown commitment, curiosity, and consistency throughout their time at Heath Mount, and it is encouraging to see their efforts acknowledged as they move on to the next stage of their education @oundleschool and @stedmundscollegeandprep.
Year 5 put their fieldwork skills into action during their geography-themed Curriculum Day in Epping Forest where they investigated how a river changes with distance downstream. The pupils did a brilliant job of using quantitative fieldwork techniques and made some great hypotheses as they discussed the effect that geology has on rivers. Thank you to Will at Epping Forest Field Centre for sharing his knowledge of river formations and helping with our investigations. #loughtonbrook #eppingforest #fieldwork #schooltrip #enrichment #learninginaction
