The harmonies soared at our charity 'Choral Spectacular' last night as Heath Mount's choirs proved that singing together really does bring joy! We were honoured to be joined by host Pam Rhodes, who kept us thoroughly entertained between songs, and acclaimed soprano Susan Parkes who treated us some of her most passionate repertoire. Guest choir, Letchworth Community Voices, also contributed to a fantastic programme of choral showstoppers. A big thank you to Pam, Susan, Mr Fisher, Ms Morris, our singers, musicians and the Letchworth Free Church for making the evening possible. We were thrilled to have a full house and would like to thank everyone who bought tickets and donated to our Zambia charity projects. One of our 12-year-old pupils is taking on three incredibly demanding physical challenges in aid of @blisscharity ! Tony, Year 7, is aiming to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 12 hours this weekend, the 24 hour Three Peaks Challenge (Ben Nevis. Scafell Pike & Snowdon) in May and a triathlon in June. "I'm doing this to raise money for a neonatal charity Bliss, which is really important to me because I was born prematurely," he says. "When I was a baby, I needed special care, and the doctors and nurses helped me grow strong enough to take on challenges like this (even if my parents think I've gone a bit over the top!). Now I want to give something back and help other babies and families who need that same support. I'll be training hard (and probably complaining about it a bit), but I'm determined to finish - for a really good cause." We are so proud of Tony and wish him the best of luck as he tackles the summits of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough this weekend.
