We offer weekday private tours with Mr Gillam, Headmaster, for prospective families looking for places in Nursery up to Year 7.

News & Events

  • Year 1 children marked Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday by following in his footsteps and filming their own minibeast documentaries this morning! They have had great fun learning about different bugs, insects and their natural habitats and knew exactly where to look for them when it came to making their films. Back in the classroom, the children worked brilliantly together to make detailed fact sheets about the creatures they have been learning about. It certainly looks like we have a few budding natural historians and film-makers among us! #davidattenborough #minibeasts #prepreplife #handsonlearning #privateschool #hertford #countryschool #countryschool

  • Happy 100th birthday to @davidattenborough! Heath Mount pupils have been joining in the celebrations, reflecting on the legendary broadcaster's incredible life and his devotion to the natural world. To mark the big day, we held a whole school art competition in Sir David's honour and received some wonderfully creative tributes. This morning, Year 1 pupils will be following in Attenborough's footsteps and making their own minibeast documentaries. In Forest School, meanwhile, Reception pupils made a giant 100 number out of natural materials and read a story about his achievements. Finally, Mr Nightingale led an inspiring Prep School assembly about Attenborough and his commitment to highlighting the impact of climate change on wildlife and biodiversity. #davidattenborough #centenary #attenborough100 #birthday #art @bbcnews #100yearsonplanetearth

  • Heath Mount's Bax Choir enjoyed a wonderful two days away at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary. The choir travelled for an overnight stay in Malvern before heading on to perform at the beautiful Cheltenham Town Hall and compete in the choral competition. Despite being one of the youngest ensembles, they delivered an outstanding and polished performance of 'Flying Free' and 'Why I Sing'. Renowned adjudicator and choral conductor, Dr Andrew Padmore, praised the children's "beautiful sense of musical shaping and poise" and singled out our expressive young clarinettist who added so much to the performance. The choir was awarded 90 marks, placing them firmly in the 'Exceptional Performance' category for both technical and artistic achievement. Of course, no choir trip would be complete without a celebratory pizza before heading home! Well done all! Did you know? Bax Choir is named after Heath Mount alumnus and composer Arnold Bax. Made up of our most experienced singers, the choir rehearses twice a week before school with our dynamic Head of Choral music, Lucy Joy Morris (who has also been a Principal Conductor for the National Youth Choir). They have performed at some of the most prestigious concert venues in the UK including the Birmingham Symphony Hall and at the International Eisteddfod in Wales. They also learn complex choreography and body percussion as part of their choral training! #choirlife #cheltenhamperformingartsfestival #choralsinging #choraltraining

  • Year 2 have launched into the summer term with great enthusiasm. Take a look at some of the activities they have been enjoying beyond the classroom... In their weekly swim lessons, they have been working on their breathing technique for front crawl and growing in confidence with plenty of fun games. On the cricket pitches, they have been honing their bowling and batting skills with the help of our expert coaches. And in the art vault, the children have made beautiful flower prints from their initial sketches. Preparations are also underway for the Pre-Prep Summer Celebration next month - featuring the talents of our youngest singers and musicians. Judging by the beautiful sounds coming from the rehearsals, we're in for a treat! #schoollife #preprep #privateschool #learningisfun
