  • What a fantastic turnout we had for our charity breakfast this morning aid of @guidedogsuk! Our charity prefects did a great job of serving up the treats while Year 7 pupils helped run the games. The fully loaded hot chocolates were certainly a winner on such a cold and frosty morning. Thank you to everyone who supported the event, we look forward to announcing the amount raised soon and meeting some very special guide dog puppies-in-training next week.

  • A reminder for parents and pupils that the PAC café will be open for a special charity breakfast between 8-8.45am tomorrow morning to raise money for @guidedogsuk. There will be delicious pastries and drinks on offer as well as the chance to play some fun games run by our Year 8 pupils (card payment accepted for food and drink but please bring £1 coins to take part in the activities). We are so excited to welcome representatives from the charity in just over a week's time. A special assembly will help raise awareness and understanding of what life is like for people living with sight loss and explain how guide dogs work in partnership with their owners to facilitate greater safety and independence. Pupils in Year 5 will also be able to meet and interact with three trainee guide dog puppies and a working guide dog as part of a special PSHEE workshop. #pshee #sightloss #guidedogs #charityandcommunity #prepschool #hertfordshire

  • Yesterday, it was time for our U12 girls' hockey team to compete at the @iapsuksport national finals @cliftoncollegeuk. From start to finish, this amazing group of young sportswomen showed true grit, talent and teamwork. Following wins against Millfield, Monkton and Hurstpierpoint College and draws against St Faith's and Repton, they earned a well-deserved place in the semi-final against hosts @cliftoncollegeprep. Despite an immense effort on their part, the girls lost 3-0 to their impressive opposition and were entered into the play-off for bronze against St Faith's. It was incredibly close, but the girls eventually lost out on shuffles, finishing 4th nationally. "They learnt a huge deal about one another, and themselves," says Mrs Schilling. "Each of them should be incredibly proud of what they did and how they contributed to our results." The girls will be taking back some great memories from their time together in the West Country - not least singing Everton songs at the top of their lungs with Mr Russell in the minibus! #passionateaboutsport #hockey #iaps #nationalfinals #prepschool #sport #privateschool

  • Year 2 have been finding out more about the lives and work of Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole during an immersive history day. They have enjoyed role-playing soldiers and nurses, writing diary entries with pen and ink, making lanterns and creating small herb bags - all whilst deepening their understanding of the Victorian era and the important developments that were made in nursing and infection control. #bringinghistorytolife #preprep #privateschool #hertford #ware #hertfordshire #education #florencenightingale #maryseacole
