News & Events

  • Our Year 1 nature detectives enjoyed a trip to Hatfield Forest today to complete their topic work on minibeasts. Undeterred by the rainy weather, they were excited to go pond dipping and discover Dragonfly Nymphs and Water Boatmen. In the forest, they successfully spotted woodlice, beetles and caterpillars. They now all have some super facts up their sleeves about dragonfly life cycles and minibeast habitats. Well done, Year 1! #hatfieldforest #nature #minibeasts #prepreplife

  • Headmaster, Mr Gillam, found himself in the stocks for our first House charity event of the summer term! Pupils paid £1 each to 'soak a teacher' at the event run by Hatfield House, raising a brilliant £168 for our Zambian charity projects. A big thank you to all of our staff who gamely took part and endured a soaking for the sake of a great cause. #charity #community #headmaster

  • Woof, woof! This fantastic dog sculpture piece, 'Park Pals', made by our Year 7 art scholars, will be going on display at this year's Royal Academy of Art Young Artists' Summer Show. The show, which opens on July 14th, attracts more than 23,000 submissions from children age 4-18 and is one of the most respected platforms for young artists to exhibit their work. Congratulations to Ava, Billy, Clarice, Freya, Grace, Henry, Lexi, Lily & Ruby for their super paper mache sculptures and to Year 6 pupil Freddie whose dog portrait will feature in the online exhibition. #papermache #sculpture #RoyalAcademy #youngartistssummershow2026 @royalacademyarts

  • Year 1 children marked Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday by following in his footsteps and filming their own minibeast documentaries this morning! They have had great fun learning about different bugs, insects and their natural habitats and knew exactly where to look for them when it came to making their films. Back in the classroom, the children worked brilliantly together to make detailed fact sheets about the creatures they have been learning about. It certainly looks like we have a few budding natural historians and film-makers among us! #davidattenborough #minibeasts #prepreplife #handsonlearning #privateschool #hertford #countryschool #countryschool
