Our Year 4s truly impressed their audiences with two outstanding performances of Oliver with a Twist, a lively musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic story. "From the opening number to the final bow, the children brought energy, commitment, and genuine joy to the stage," says Head of Drama, Mrs Mann. "They sang with confidence and acted with maturity beyond their yearsall while navigating complex scene transitions, quick costume changes, and a myriad of Victorian style props." What stood out most was their teamwork. Ella from Year 4 captured it perfectly when she said, "It's not about me, me, me... it's about us, us, us!" Her words beautifully reflect the ethos behind the production and the dedication shown by the entire year group. After a heroic final effort from the girls, our U13 netball team have become IAPS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! The girls were up against some of the best school teams in the country, but they kept the faith and didn't stop until they had brought home the national title! The team had a brilliant start to the tournament - winning all of their pool games (18-7 against Feltonfleet, 12-3 against Langley, 8-6 v Windlesham and 11-10 against last year's champions - Bromsgrove). The team then progressed to the quarter final, winning 12-7 against Brighton College to make it into the final four. Following their semi-final win against Dean Close, they came face to face with a very strong Millfield team in the final. It was a nail-biting affair that finished 10-10 and went to extra time, but the Heath Mount girls kept the adrenaline going and scored a 9-2 victory! We are so proud of the girls and their coaches, Miss Meister and Miss Brooking, who have helped our Year 8 pupils prepare so well for this moment. Extra congratulations go to Immy who was named player of the tournament! A big well done to runners-up, @millfieldschool, and to all the teams who took part today and a huge thank you to organiser @iapsuksport and our hosts @rugbyschoolsports. The girls' achievement follows hot on the heels of the U12 team who won silver at their national finals.
