New Barefoot Sensory Trail

Pupils Put Their Best Foot Forward In Forest School

Ranger Shenton revealed some exciting new additions to Forest School this week including a barefoot sensory trail and new water run. Reception were the first to take off their shoes and walk the sensory trail and they enjoyed it so much they felt Headmaster Mr Gillam should have a go too! The children used some fantastic adjectives to describe the textures they felt with their toes - from crunchy gravel to smooth pebbles and crumbly sand!

The new water run, meanwhile, encouraged plenty of experimental play as the children changed the water flow through the three racing gates into the bamboo chutes. While the water cascaded down, they investigated whether acorns could float and used watering cans and giant pipettes to make water patterns and transfer water from reservoir to reservoir.
