School Fees Per Term
Choosing an independent school is a significant investment for families. At Heath Mount, we believe it is important that parents understand not only the headline fee, but the full breadth of provision that sits behind it.
Our approach is designed to provide a complete school experience within a transparent and predictable fee structure. Rather than operating a model built around numerous additional charges, much of what makes a Heath Mount education distinctive is already included within the core school day.
Fees are intentionally inclusive. They cover an extended school day, broad co-curricular provision, specialist teaching within the curriculum and strong pastoral care alongside a minimal number of additional charges.
Fees: Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long is the school day, and what is included within it?
- Pre-Prep Core Day: 8:45am–4:00pm
- Year 3 & 4 Core Day: 8.25am-4.15pm
- Year 5-8 Core Day: 8.25am-4.45pm
In the Pre-Prep (Reception to Year 2) our fees include supervised care and activities available from 8:00am – 4:45pm. In Years 3-8, fees include supervised care and activities from 7:45am – 5:30pm.
Heath Mount's extended day allows pupils to benefit from a broad range of academic, pastoral and co-curricular opportunities within the normal school structure.
2. Is extra wraparound care available?
Yes. Additional supervised care is available from 7:30am until 6:30pm for a small charge covering breakfast and/or supper.
3. How does Heath Mount support working families?
Our longer school day reduces the need for paid wraparound care, offers predictable fees, and provides more hours of structured education and enrichment. This creates greater convenience and fewer additional costs for busy families.
4. What co-curricular opportunities are included?
Pupils can take part in a wide range of activities including sport, creative and performing arts and various enrichment opportunities which are all built into the school day.
5. Do pupils receive specialist teaching?
Yes. Specialist teaching is embedded throughout key subject areas to enhance academic challenge and enrich learning from an early stage.
6. What pastoral support is offered?
Pastoral depth is central to school life. Pupils benefit from a strong wellbeing framework that ensures every child is supported, known and valued.
7. Why do Heath Mount’s fees represent good value?
Families comparing schools should consider the full school day, wraparound provision and additional charges. At Heath Mount, much of what is often charged separately elsewhere is already included in the core fee.
8. Are the fees predictable from term to term?
Yes. Our model provides transparent yearly costs, fewer surprises, and a cohesive educational experience without frequent optional add-ons.
9. Can someone help us understand the fees more clearly?
Our Registrar, Louise Cook, would be happy to explain what is included and how our provision supports pupils and families. Her email address is registrar@heathmount.org and her telephone number is 01920 832916.

Music Lessons
Music lessons are invoiced by and payable directly to the peripatetic teacher.
Childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare
We accept childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare payments for ‘qualifying childcare’ i.e. care provided for any child aged three (or rising three, which means a child who will be three before the end of term) up to and including the term in which your child turns five years old. This means that you can use childcare vouchers or tax-free childcare to pay for your child’s Nursery Fees and also for part of the School Fees for their Reception year.
We also accept childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare payments for approved childcare on the school premises outside of normal school hours, i.e. Wraparound Care, Before and After School Activities, and Boarding. Many of our holiday activity providers also accept such payments.
The School is unable to accept such payments towards fees for older children, for school trips, for music lessons, and for other activities which take place in normal school hours.
Further details are available on the Government website.
Please note we do not offer the 15 or 30 hour free childcare for 3 and 4 year olds.
Fee Payment
Parents receive the fee invoice for the following term during the last week of the preceding term or soon after. Fees are due and payable in full on or before the first day of the new term. Payment should be made via bank transfer to the School’s bank account, details of which are listed on the invoice. Any queries relating to fees should be directed to fees@heathmount.org.
Notice Period
Whilst we hope that your child continues to enjoy Heath Mount School until the end of Year 8, please remember to provide a term’s notice of your intention to remove a pupil or to discontinue an optional extra. Please provide this in writing to the Headmaster no later than the first day of the term at the end of which notice is to take effect. Failure to provide this notice will result in your liability for full payment of the following full term’s fees.
