Pre-Prep Christmas Celebrations

Joyful Shows, Christmas Crafts And A Special Treat From Santa!

Our Pre-Prep families have been treated to a series of stellar performances by our youngest pupils as Michaelmas term draws to a close. Year 2 took us on an adventure to Neverland with their magical performance of Peter Pan. The children did a marvellous job of suspending reality and taking us into the heart of one of the best loved stories of all time.

Year 1 children, meanwhile, took their parents and grandparents on a Christmas tour around the world, describing different festive traditions in other countries as well as the traditions special to them and their families. From Poland all the way to Australia, they had some brilliant facts up their sleeves. Year 1 also entertained their guests with a host of wonderful songs including one about barbecuing at Christmas 'Down Under'!

The stardust continued to fall in our Performing Arts Centre as our Reception pupils took to the stage for their Christmas performance of Something Amazing is About to Happen’. They told the story of Little Robin and Little Sheep experiencing the Christmas Story for the first time and the woodland animals' excitement. The children danced, sang and spoke beautifully and with such wonderful animation - sweeping the audience up in their excitement and joy of performing.

Nursery pupils also put on a memorable show for their parents and grandparents. The children, some of whom are two-years-old or have just turned three, showed great confidence as they took to the PAC to sing a medley of songs including This Little Light Of Mine, Away In A Manger, When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney and of course their finale showstopper, Everyone's In The Stable!

Parents and carers were once more invited into school to take part in some special Christmas Craft Sessions with pupils in Years 1 & 2.  Together, they sewed and embellished stockings, made calendars, reindeer handprints and lollipop stick tree decorations.  There were sequins, glitter and pom poms galore and much fun was had by all!

In Forest School, the creativity continued as the children created woodland decorations using a variety of tools.  Year 2 used their knife whittling skills to craft some delightful mini santas and elves.

As a final treat, the du Maurier Society (our Parents’ Association) set up a beautiful Christmas grotto for Father Christmas to hand out some early presents to all the children for being so good all year!
