The Lower School is a warm, fun and inspiring place to be. Situated next to the Pre-Prep and Nursery buildings, it provides the perfect stepping-stone from Key Stage1 into Key Stage 2. Boasting eight classrooms, a learning support room, as well as a communal space for assemblies and presentations, this bright and airy, modern building provides the ideal environment for learning as children take the next step on their journey.
Day to day, pupils are primarily based in the Lower School for lessons. They are taught by their form teacher for the majority of time, or by one of their year group teachers in sets for the core subjects. However, pupils also get to enjoy many lessons, including music, DT, art and computing in the main house, which gives them access to specialist resources, helps to foster their independence and offers a sense of belonging to the wider school community.
Learning and personal development are enriched through the broad extra-curricular programme. Throughout the year the children take part in Curriculum Day activities, off site visits and are offered a wide range of after school clubs and activities. Children at this stage in their school career are also invited to try boarding for the first time.
