Fun On And Off The Slopes Of Serre Chevalier

At the start of the Easter holidays, 26 of our Year 8 pupils took to the slopes of Serre Chevalier, France. Blue skies and fantastic Spring snow conditions all week resulted in great progress on the slopes, fun-filled days and, most importantly, lots and lots of smiles and laughter. Paul, Vincent and Julien from Ski Connections provided outstanding ski lessons and by the end of day two, our beginners had left the beginner slopes to discover a whole new world beyond the “Vallons” chairlift!

Spectacular views are around every corner in Serre Chevalier, not least from the on-piste BBQ lunch venue, although we're sure that the Year 8s preferred the views from “La Cabane à sucre” (the Sugar Cabin!)!  After ski lessons, the Year 8s spent time chilling in the main square of Chantemerle, drinking chocolat chaud, eating crְêpes and maybe the odd bonbons here and there.

Bowling, quiz night, karaoke, and pizza night were a few of the ways the group spent otheir evenings and it was great to watch the bonds and friendship grow as the week progressed.

Our senior pupils are given the choice of going on several international trips during their last two years at Heath Mount.  As well as the ski trip we offer our bi-annual STEM trip to Florida and the chance to train like an astronaut at NASA as well as our annual Zambia trip which includes visits to our partner charity in Lusaka, Twende Education For All, as well as incredible safaris and cultural experiences.
