Gold and Silver Medals For Charlie and Billy
Over the weekend, our swimmers travelled to the London Aquatic Centre to compete in the National IAPS Swimming Finals.
The standout performances of the day came from Charlie, who secured gold in the final and set a new IAPS record in the U11 50m fly with an incredible time of 30.83 seconds, and Billy, who won silver in the U12 50m breaststroke, missing out on gold by just 0.01 seconds in a nail-biting finish.
There were also excellent swims from George in the U12 boys 50m breaststroke and swim captain Izaak , both of whom showed great determination and improved on their qualification and heat performances in the finals of their respective events. Darcey also represented the girls brilliantly, finishing the U12 girls 50m butterfly with a personal best time of 39.50 seconds.
It was fantastic to see so many of our swimmers performing at such a high level on a big stage and supporting one another poolside. Ms Prior is incredibly proud of all the pupils who took part and represented the school, and a special thank you to Mrs Wilson and Mr Johnston for their support in helping the swimmers prepare.
It was a terrific experience for all involved, and a huge well done to everyone who participated — with special congratulations to Charlie and Billy on their outstanding achievements!
