Pupil smashes record for U10, 50m Butterfly at The National Aquatic Centre
Thirteen Heath Mount pupils headed to London's National Aquatic Centre yesterday to take part in the IAPS National Swimming Finals. It was an amazing opportunity for our young swimmers to compete on the national stage in an iconic Olympic 2012 venue, and the atmosphere was electric!

Huge congratulations to Year 5 pupil Charlie who won gold in the U10 Butterfly for the second year running (in 2024 he competed in the U10 category despite being a year younger than the other competitors). This time round, he not only won the title but broke the current time record twice over! He first broke the record in the preliminary rounds and then again in the final when he won with a personal best time of 32.47.
Two other pupils also achieved silver medals. Congratulations to Year 6's Billy who won second place in the U11 50m breaststroke and Year 7's Izaak came second in the U12 50m breaststroke.
We are so proud of all our swimmers who took part and represented the school so brilliantly. A big thank you to our coaches, Ms Prior and Mrs Wilson, who have run extra training sessions and supported the children throughout the IAPS competition stages.
