Years 1 & 2

Getting the basics right is essential if children are to meet their potential as they get older. Literacy and numeracy are regarded to be of fundamental importance and as they move into Year 1, we focus on these core skills. 

Our Creative Curriculum is designed to inspire imagination, curiosity and a genuine love of learning. Encompassing skills from the science, history, geography, art and DT curriculum, through engaging themes, hands-on experiences and meaningful connections across subjects, children are encouraged to explore, question and create with confidence. Learning is brought to life through practical opportunities, collaborative projects and real-world experiences that deepen understanding and foster critical thinking.

By nurturing creativity alongside academic excellence, our curriculum empowers every child to discover their unique talents, develop independence and grow into confident, capable learners who are ready to make a positive contribution to the world around them.

Children are based with their Form Teacher for core subjects whilst specialist teachers are used for music, pottery, swimming, Forest School and PE and games.
